Privacy, kept short

This site has no forms, no accounts and no mailing list, so it collects very little about you. Here is what does happen when you visit (Google Analytics 4 is part of it), and when you click a partner link.

Bristle Bench collects as little about you as a website can. There are no sign-up forms, no accounts, no comment boxes and no mailing list here, so we never ask for your name, your email address or anything about your health.

Last reviewed October 29, 2026, when Google Analytics was added. If we change how the site handles information again, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.

What our servers record

Like almost every website, the servers and network that deliver these pages keep short technical logs of the requests they receive: the address your request came from, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser and device type your browser reports. Those logs exist to deliver pages and to keep the site secure against abuse, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.

We do not run advertising trackers on this site. We do run one analytics service, Google Analytics 4, and the next section explains it.

Google Analytics 4

Knowing which brush comparisons people actually read helps us decide what to retest, so Bristle Bench sends Google a record of each page view: the address, the referring page, an estimated country or city, device type and browser, and how long you were here. The service does not receive your name, and we only look at totals.

All of Google's advertising options are disabled for this site, Google signals and ad personalisation among them; we sell nothing. Event-level data is set to a retention of 14 months. Google explains its own use of the data in this privacy policy.

How it starts depends on your device's time zone. A European one, which is what devices in the EEA, Britain and Switzerland report, means a banner and no data sent until you accept. Any other means analytics is on unless you decline, and a browser that transmits Global Privacy Control has, as far as we are concerned, declined for you. Your answer stays in local storage under analytics-consent; open the analytics choice to change it, and a no deletes the analytics cookies.

Cookies

This site sets cookies only while analytics is on: Google Analytics then keeps _ga and _ga_<ID> for a period of up to two years. Your browser may store copies of our pages and fonts to load them faster next time; that stays on your device. Blocking cookies, or Google's opt-out add-on, switches analytics off too.

Links marked "affiliate" pass through an address on our site beginning /go/ and then send you to a retailer or maker, such as Amazon, Hismile or BURST. Once you arrive there, that company's own privacy policy and cookies apply, including any cookie it uses to record that you came from us. We never see what you buy or any payment details; a partner reports only commission totals to us.

Email

If you email us, we keep your message only as long as we need it to answer or to fix what you pointed out, and we do not add your address to any list. Please do not send us details of your health; we cannot give personal dental advice.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information a website holds about you and to ask for it to be deleted. Because we hold so little, the answer is usually "nothing but server logs and pseudonymous page counts", but you can ask at [email protected].
